Why Are Atheists In Denial Regarding God?

   Sometimes when a person faces a truth too hurtful to deal with, he
   simply denies it. Psychologists call this phenomenon "denial."
   
   This is what happens with atheists: they cannot deal with the reality
   of God, so they simply deny His existence. Despite overwhelming
   evidence of design in the universe, they deny the Designer, God.
   
   Why do they do this? What is the psychological basis of their denial?
   
   Two reasons seem to be the most common: 1) They are very angry at God
   for something He allowed to happen; or 2) They have some major sin in
   their lives that they are unwilling to admit or give up. So they deny
   Him. Simple and effective.
   
   But either way, the basis for their denial is emotional, not rational.
   They pretend they are being "scientific," but really they are hiding
   from the truth. Science can never explain the creation of the universe
   because science will never find the necessary "First Cause" behind it.
   
   The only reasonable explanation is provided in the very first words of
   the Bible:

         "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
          (Genesis 1:1, in the Bible)
            _____________________________________________________________


   All other explanations are nonsense.
