V.b. Ralph Nans of Trengove-vyan in Illogan (son of CONSTANCE
GEYLETT and ALEXANDER NANCE), a younger brother of Richard
v.a., First appears on the tax rolls of kirrier same Parishes in 1522.
Thus, I feel he is probably the 2nd son of Sir Alexander as some in Cornwall
believe. Two known children, Maud Trengove married John Nanscothan of Rodriff,
and John Richard Trengove of Trengove. Ralph Nans was also referred to in
the records as Ralph Trengove, alias Nans, and Trengove-vyan was referred
to as Trengove in most records. His descendants all assumed the single
surname of Trengove, while his brothers' and cousins' descendants used the
name Nance.
Children:
VI. a. Maud Trengove married John Nanscothan of Rodriff
VI. b. John Richard Trengove of Trengove in Illogan appears in church
records of Illogan Parish as early as 1565 and continues to be in the Parish
as a father as late as 1588. No records of his death in Illogan. His sons
appear to be in St. Erth Parish, along with Nances of the Illogan families
of the same generation.
