Crouch & Susannah (Bowman) Crouch. Rebecca Young b 27 Jul 1831,
; d 15 Dec 1877, ; d/o John & Isabel (Cunningham) Young. 23 Sep 1872,
Alfred M. Crouch bought 54 acres of land in District 11 from Joseph Miller
for $850 (Washington Co TN Deed Book 43, p.355). 01 Apr 1899 Alfred M. Crouch
sold a plat of land containing 1 1/4 acres in Johnson City TN to A. F. Hoss
& C. W. Hodge for $5,887.50 (Washington Co TN Deed Book 43). Alfred
Miller Crouch was a farmer and a carpenter considered expert in making cabinets,
beds, bureaus, spinning wheels & other wooden necessities. Alfred Miller
& Rebecca (Young) Crouch were buried in Boones Creek Christian Church
Cemetery, Washington Co TN. Alfred Crouch will dtd 01 Feb 1911 was probated
Jan 1914. Following are some entries from the will: Robert L. Crouch rec'd
drill, rake & wagon; James Crouch rec'd all carpenter tools; Susan Clark,
Nora Keefauver & Salina Broyles rec'd one bed each; Alice Hughes rec'd
$500 cash; grandson Charles Garst, son of daughter Mary, rec'd $500; granddaughter
Ida Keefauver rec'd set of chairs and one bed, one bureau, one cow, two
heifers & $300 cash; the Christian Mission rec'd $100; son John H. Crouch
rec'd store bldg, _ acre of land; son Robert L. Crouch rec'd 80 or 90 acres
"where I (Alfred Crouch) now live."; and James, Susan, Nora, Salina,
alice were to rec've remainder of personal property, horses, cattle, cash,
notes & all other personal property. Monies paid out are listed in the
Settlement of Estate dtd 23 Feb 1916 in Washington Co TN Book 10, James
M. Crouch, Executor.
