Hi, my maiden name was Sharon Crouch. Research suggest that the first family member in our line of the Crouch family to arrive in Western Australia was William Bell Crouch, who immigrated around 1880. His occupation is given as a clerk on his marriage cert. Born in Perth, Scottland, the son of John and Henrietta Crouch (nee McLeod) around 1862. A "Jack Crouch" is mentioned in William Crouch's journal as an uncle living in America.

I am the undersigned residing in Western Australia and descended from an
English line of which the oldest birth certificate I can locate is for
one LUCY CROUCH born April 26 1858. daughter of RICHARD CROUCH JNR,
clerk to Manufacturing Chemist of Tottenham Middlesex UK.
I am anxious to be able to go further back and wonder if there is a link
there to the US CROUCH families.
Can you help, please? I have extensive information on UK/Australia
CROUCH descendants from the 1850s only.

Crouch. Samuel in Australia, Saturday 29-Jul-2000 06:45:52, 198.142.173.31
I am seekinginformation on my great great great grandfather. Samuel Crouch son of James and Sarah Crouch. I can not find any information of when he Came to Australia. He lived in the Goulburn district of New South Wales. He married Hannah Heady Matthews 20/01/1851. They had 3 children. Samuel Burton Thoams and Charles.
Samuel Crouch died in Goulburn 1861. Hannah remarried in 1862 to Thomas Maher and had several more children.
I have found an entry of a convict by the name of Samuel Crouch being transported to Port Stephens Australia in 1833 aged 26. I can not link this. If this was the Samuel Crouch who became my grandfather's grandfather he would have been 44 when he married. I would appreciate any help in solving my search., rjec@optusnet.com.au

Dear John, My name is Edward George Crouch and I live in the state of Queensland in Australia. I have traced my family history back to my great grandparents who were married in Adelaide in South Australia in 1861. I believe they both were born in Ireland. Legend in the family had us related to a Ned Kelly (Australia's Jesse James, his brother Dan was also part of the bank robbing gang). My research has shown my great grandmother's maiden name was Kelly. Unfortunately there is no other information on their marriage registration which was only one line in the church register. There seems to be a lot of people by the name of Crouch in South Australia at the time as book has been published giving the names of all South Australians. Should you be able to suggest any avenues where I can extend my research I would be much appreciative. Yours faithfully Ed Crouch

I was wondering if anyone could help me with information about
Edward Crouch. He arrived in Sydney, Australia, in 1839.
My mother's name is Mavis Dobbin (nee Bellis) and she was born
in Wynnum, Brisbane, Australia. My Grandparent's names were
Violet Bellis (nee Crouch) and Victor Bellis.
George Shillington Crouch , born 1866 was the father of Violet
Crouch and his father's name was George Frederick Crouch.
George Frederick Crouch is acknowledged as the father of the
fishing industry in Morton Bay. The Crouch family is one of the
oldest known among the pioneers of the Wynnum fishing industry.
George Frederick Crouch came to Wynnum from Sydney. I believe
his father's name was Edward Crouch and Edward came to Australia
in 1839.
If anyone could help me with information about this side of my
Mother's family, I would appreciate it.
Thank You,
Diana Duval

Edyth Crouch married Hubert Edward Armfield in Australia in
1889 and went to live in New York where Hubert was a
portrait artist. They had 2 sons Hubert Melbourne Armfield and
Noel Trangmar Armfield. Hubert was born in 1901 and had 2
daughters Ann Trangmar Armfield born 19/5/1933 and Margaret
Sutherland Armfield born 9/2/1936. The Crouch family in South
Australia would like to trace these cousins who were both born in
LosAngeles. As we don't know who they married we don't know
their present names. Can anyone help?

Hi John and Richard,
Happened to see you listed in WhoWhere? and want to find out if you are my step-brothers.
I'm Gerard (Jerry) Crouch from Calcutta- Alipore Estates. Rings a bell? Do get in touch
if identification correct.
Regards,
Jerry

From: Gerard <gfc@cybertex.ch>
Thanks for the reply, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
However, it's quite interesting that you mentioned another set of
brothers by the same name. According to my info, my step-brothers, John
and Richard, were last in Australia. So when I saw the names listed in
WhoWhere?, very naively I thought that the chances of there being
another pair of brothers with the same names were pretty low, and that
my step-brothers had, sometime in the past, migrated to the U.S.
Now, I find that there are at least three such pairs. Isn't life full
of surprises?
Anyway, some gen about me. I am residing in Bangalore (India), having
just shifted here from Calcutta. I am working in the I.T. industry, and
Bangalore, as you might know, is called the 'Silicon Valley of India'.
That's all for now.
Regards,
Jerry
