We are looking for information on my g. grandmother, Cornelia Matilda CROUCH b. abt. 1872 in Saluda, SC. She married Harvey Monroe NORWOOD abt 1895 in SC. They later moved to Lafayette Co, FL. My father Herman LeRoy Crouch was born in Augusta GA in 1920 and died in 1976; he had 3 brothers (Joseph Theodore Wallace Roderice James Rudloph and a sister Jewell Odessa (Jenkins). My daddy's father was John Wallace Crouch born Nov. 27 1893 and died Nov. 20 1954 married to Annie Mae Sharpton who was born May 23 1891 died Aug. 18 1957; J. W.'s father was Simpson Goodwin Crouch who was born in Edgefield Co.(in South Carolina) dob unknown; died Oct. 24 1915 married to Cleo Hatcher; Goodwin's father was Jacob Crouch - all that has been found so far on him is he was born in Edgefield SC and is buried in Graniteville Cemetery died Nov. 9 1909.

I have an ancestry page on James Samuel Crouch, but I do not know the URL
to give you. My ancestry file # [compiled by the late Glenn Crouch] is: ja010280.
I am the great-granddaughter of James Samuel and Sarah Rebecca (Sanders)
Crouch. James Samuel was born 6 Dec. 1857, SC., died 24 Feb. 1920.
Sarah Rebecca (Sanders) Crouch was born 24 Mar. 1868/70, Harlem, GA.,
died 7 July 1948, Augusta, Richmond Co., GA. Sarah Rebecca (Sanders)
Crouch was the daughter of Dr. Andrew J. and Georgia Rebecca (Drane)
Sanders. The 1900 census states James Samuel and Sarah Rebecca Crouch
had been married appx. 12 years.
James Samuel and Sarah Rebecca (Sanders) Crouch had four children:
1. Georgia Frances born 8 Aug. 1888, Augusta, Richmond Co., GA, died 19
June 1959, Augusta, GA. Georgia Frances was married twice, (1)
Jefferson Perry Barksdale. They had one daughter, Sarah Jane Barksdale
(1913-1990). Sarah Jane (Barksdale) married Leroy Oliver Tice. Two
children: Leroy Oliver Tice, Jr. and Sarah Jane, Jr., always know as
Jane. (2) Married 1920 to Julian Justice McCall, born 1883, Jasper, FL,
died 8 Aug. 1927. Three sons, John Francis McCall (1921-1992), George
Samuel McCall (1922-1982), and Robert Leo McCall (1925-1988). My
lineage is through their son John Francis McCall. I am in contact with
my McCall cousins (in GA, TX, and CA) and my cousin Jane (nee Tice).
2. James Samuel Crouch, Jr. born ca 1893; Augusta, Richmond Co., Ga. No
further info.
3. Mary Agnus born ca 1898, Augusta, Richmond Co., GA married Mr. John
Wood. Know of one daughter, Mary Frances. No further info.
4. Sarah Cornelia born 1901, Augusta, Richmond Co., GA, died 1948,
married Mr. Ruben Floyd. They had one daughter Frances Belle married
Richard Wilson McGuire. They had three children. I am in contact with
Frances Belle and my cousins.
Since I have extensive info in the other Crouch data base, I have made
this brief. We know nothing of James Samuel Crouch's lineage. James
Samuel's wife is from a prominent lineage of Drane and Magruder families
in GA. I have info on our Dranes and Magruders back to the 1700s in
Prince George's Co., MD.

FLORIDA

My grandparents were Amy Ethel Gard and Garten Griffin Green, the son of John
Davis Green and Mahala Wheeldon who m. in Indiana.
John and Mahala's oldest daughter was Sarah Elizabeth Green, m to Reuben B.Powell. They had twelve children all born in Powell, Nebraska.

Inez Powell, one of the twelve, married Willard Crouch and had three
children, Eva Lucille Crouch, Hazel Virginia Crouch, and Lloyd Harley Crouch.

Capla, Ok, Jacksonville, Duval Co, Fl, High Point, Guilford Co,NC, Lake
Johnson, Clay Co,Fl, Helvey, Ne, Powell Ne, De Funiak Springs, Walton
Co. Fl all play a part in the places the three children lived.

I'd like to know who and where John Davis Green's ancestors
were.

I have hit the brick wall in trying to find info for the Green family back
of Gartens father John Davis Green of In. When you type in Google the
name of Sarah Elizabeth Green you will see info for Mehala Wheeldon and
a Nancy Smith Towns who is a descendant of Sarah Green. By following the
messages we see that one of the family visited a Delmer Powell in Ne. in
1983 and went on to visit cousins in Winner, SD. Here is my thinking, If
I can find a family member by the name of Crouch and or Powell it may lead
me back to Sarah Green and thus to her grandparents. I suspect Nancy
Smith Towns has that info also.

Let say thanks in advance and any consideration you might give me will
be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to share what info I have.

I'm trying to find Alabama and Mississippi
Crouches. Grandfather Crouch is missing in the family tree. My father,
Harold R. Crouch married Sarah C. Phillips in Meridian, MS around 1928.
Harold Crouch was my father but I never heard the name of his father/my
grandfather. Supposedly, Grandfather Crouch was from Birmingham or
Bessmer, AL and was married Emmalita ? Grandfather and Emmalita had two
sons, Harold R. Crouch and Bobby E Crouch; both moved from MS to VA in the
late 1930s and worked in Newport News Shipyard. Phillips side of the
family, from Meridian, MS, remember Emmalita but have no knowledge of
Grandfather, not even his first name. Would appreciate any information.
