My father's name was John Crouch (Jonathan G. Crouch) In our check there
were
five brothers came from England. My great grandparents settled in Salt
Lick,
Kentucky raised cotton and Horses. My grandfather moved west and settled
in
Clark County, Kansas then moving to Oklahoma during Cherokee Strip so his
sons (8) could homestead. My grandfather Crouch fought on the Rebel side

The Rev. Benjamin Crouch of Shelby KY had a child Rosa Anderson Crouch who
married shortly after the civil war a John Field (allegedly a member of
Mosby's Rangers but I haven't been able to confirm it).
Does anyone have any information on Rev. Crouch's family (in particular
his wife Hannah Verlinda Wren Talbott has an unusual set of middle names
but I havn't been able to connect them to any Wren families) or ESPECIALLY
his son-in-law John Field (my great-great grandfather after whom my dad
is named).

Rex Crouch recently helped me break through a brick wall on my
Crouch's. It in turn caused more questions. I am seeking a
Genral Crouch who married Matilda Faildly both of whom are from
Ky. They probably lived in Bath county Ky and had at least one
child. Theodore "Dora" Crouch who married Lula Markland, both
from Bath County Ky. Dora was born around 1870 and died January
27, 1923. Lula then married Joe Phillips. Anyone having
information on General Crouch, it would be greatly appreciated.
I do not know his first name. On Dora's death certificate it
list his father simple as General Crouch from Ky.

I am looking for info on a General Crouch who married a Matilda
(Faidley?) Crouch. I do not know if his name is General or if it
is a nickname from the military or if his real name was General.
His son had it listed on his death certificate as General Crouch
and Matilda Faidley Crouch. Any info would be greatly
appreciated. Dory, the son, died in 1923 in Bath County,
Kentucky. I think Dory was a nickname for Theodore. Dory was
married to Lula Markland. In the census they spell her name as
Lilly even though it was Lula. They had children:

Hello, my name is Grace Lynette Crouch. I have been researching my family
tree for several years. I am at a brick wall with my great grandfather
however. On my grandfather's death certificate his father is listed as
Theodore Crouch. On my uncles it is listed as Dora Crouch. He was married
to
Lula Markland and they lived in Bath County. It is said his nickname was
Dora. He shows up on the Census as Dave marked hard to read which could
be
Dora and his wife is listed as Lillie. they have a son Laurence (really
Lawrence). This is the Bath County Kentucky 1900 census. They show up again
in the Bath COunty Kentucky census in 1920. Lawrence (my grandfather) is
gone by then but all his siblings are listed: Earl, Annie, Lora, Carroll.
After his death which was before 1951 as he was already dead when my
grandfather Lawrence Crouch died in October of 1951.Lula married Joseph
Phillips. Both of them are gone now and buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery
in
Lexington, Kentucky. Can you help me at all?

I am descended from Joseph CROUCH and his wife Nancy E. MURIE. Joseph was
b. Bath County KY ca 1792 and moved his family to Ralls County Missouri
in 1823 and then on to Montgomery County Missouri in 1836. I am descended
from his William and wife Phoebe McDANIEL their son Christopher and wife
Mary SMILEY and thier son Carl L. CROUCH (my mother's father) and his 2nd
wife Leona FISCHER. Carl & Leona's first child is my mother (Leona CROUCH
DAVID - she now uses the last name LAYTON from a marriage after my father
died).
I am trying to find the lineage of this Joseph CROUCH of Bath County KY.
I think (not sure) his father was Jonathan CROUCH jr. and his grandfather
was Jonathan CROUCH Sr. Also i am very interested in finding any information
on Joseph CROUCH's wife Nancy MURIE. I have tried all possible spellings
of the name and have found absolutley nothing. Any help is appreciated.

Charles Crouch was believed to h ave been born in
Fayette county VA(KY now) in 1776 to a David Crouch who fought in the revolutionary
war. The family is thought to have come through the Cumberland Gap with
a pioneer wagon train led by Col Henderson. He grew up in that area and
married Lydia (unknown maiden name. They moved to Muhlenberg co.KY. He later
married Rebecca Hathaway - no children. Died about 1851 buried south of
Lexington - no cemetery name. Any Help? ,

My Grandmother, Theresa Alice Champion, had a sister, Ellen (shown in
the 1870 Census of Dist. #3, Fulton County, KY as Hellon M.) who married
Will Crouch in the early 1870s and they had three sons: Thomas who
married a FLOOD, Wesley who married Kate FOUNTAIN and James who was born
in 1877 and in 1900 was living with his Aunt, Theresa Alice and Husband,
John Henry Elder, in Missouri Twp., Nevada County, AR. I think that
James returned to Obion County.
I sure would like to know more about the family and in particular what
happened to Ellen and Theresa's mother, Minerva (also known as Evaline)
Ann Oliver, who married James S. Champion in Henry County, TN 11 Nov
1851. Also, I would like to know more about the Crouch family.

I am the youngest son of one Russell Malcolm Crouch of Thorntown, IN, son
of Harry L. and Elizabeth E. Crouch. We are decended from one R.M. Crouch
(another Russell Malcolm?) who

Dear Sir: I am not an avid genealogist, but I've done a certain amount of
elementary research into my immediate forebears and I always deadend at
about the year 1800. My great great grandfather was a John Crouch born
around 1812 near Elizabethtown Ky. He was the son, I've been told,
of a
Jesse Crouch who came from Virginia. I've never been able to fit my
particular line into any of the published genealogies I've seen. The
Christian names John and Jesse were common in the generations I'm aware
of,
as was William. Unfortunately they're common names generally. Can you help
me at all?

My g.grandmother was a Crouch, I have Alvira, Mary and Elizabeth as her

names on 3 different paper's. She was from Wolfe Co. KY and married a Asberry
(Berry) Wireman. In 1910 I found them in Bath Co. Ky. There are so many
pages that you can't read in the 1920 census that I can't find any of my
family.

Looking for family information on Elijah D. Crouch born 1823
Kentucky to William and Martha (Martin) Crouch. He first married
Sarah Ann Hull 1849 Morgan County, Illinois they had one daughter
Martha A. born 1850. Sarah died before the 1850 census. Elijah
second married Julia Ann Hull sister of Sarah in 1856 in Texas.
They had Zerilda J. (Lidia), Mary Hannah (Mollie), Wiley Denton,
William Jack and Ozias M. Julia died abt 1877..Elijah third
married Mrs. Arminta Thomas 1879 in Parker County, Texas and they

My siblings and I are hoping to track our family line. From my internet
research I have been unable to find a lineage that matches what little we
were told as children about our
family history. Our father, Woodrow John Crouch (b ca 1945) is the
son of
Woodrow Crouch (b ca 1925), originally of Kentucky we believe, and
now of
Florida. Our family considers themselves to be of English descent. As a
child my father spent several summer vacations with extended Crouch
relations in Kentucky. According to family history our great or
great-great grandfather married a native American woman, who might have
taken the name Elizabeth or Lisa after marriage and whom I am said to be
named after. This same great/great-great grandfather was allegedly a
minister in the south. Our father often told us that "Woodrow"
and
"John" were traditional names within his family. My father had
an aunt
"Bessie," last name possibly Smith, who lived in Ohio or
Kentucky. My
grandfather Crouch married Eileen Kelley in the Forties and settled
in
New Jersey. They were divorced in the Fifties. If anyone can point us in
