Grace Boring Smith was the daughter of Will D. Boring and Myrtle Crouch
of Boones Creek. Myrtle was the daughter of Rev. Thomas Crouch.
Grace Smith and I were very very close friends and she told me many stories
about her family before she died. I have a painting that was hers and painted
by her mother's sister. This sister never married and died in her 20's.
There is a story of a murder at the home of Will and Myrtle Boring's home
when Mrs. Smith was a little girl that she told me in which the fiancé
of Mrs. Boring's sister was killed. His killer was the last man hung in
Jonesboro. In order to document this historical story I am trying to find
the name of this aunt of Mrs. Smith's because I have forgotten it. I do
not see it listed with the other children and I wonder if it's not because
she died young. If anyone knows who she is I would appreciate hearing from
