If your name or your ancestor's name appears on this list, you are a direct
descendant of Jesse and Mary Nance Crouch. Jesse
was born in Stafford Co., Va. in 1760, son of John
Crouch Sr.. He and his brothers came to the
Watauga country in 1780 as patriot soldiers in the King's Mountain campaign.
Between 1780 and 1794 they built the log
house in Boone's Creek which is now being restored by theWatauga Valley
Settlements Historic Preservation Fund.
We know this list is far from complete. Any corrections,
additions, questions, or contributions to help restore the house would
be appreciated. In any case, we'd like to hear from you.
