Casper is the son of Michael born 5Apr1734 Rockaway Creek Area, Hunterdon Co. NJ, where bapt. 23Apr1734 by Rev.W.O.Berkenmeyer, family moved to New Germantown, then to Newton twp. Sussex Co., NJ where he was farmer and on taxables 1773-74 on 100 acres, customer at Henry Bale store Newton, served in revoluntionary War, Pri.in Capt. James Bonnel's Co., Sussex Co Militia, later on 26 May 1778 took oath as officer in Militia. but no further record is found."]

Children of David Hendershot and Lydia Allbright, m. Nov. 26, 1844: Charles Benham Hendershott b. 8/6/1825 [obit. says 8/25/1825] Pike Co., Ill., d. May 1907 Sherman, Tx.,, a son of David Hendershot and Catherine Benham, m. April 1847 Sarah Larrison b. 1826, d. after her husband. Charles moved to Iowa in 1844. He served in the Mexican War. He was a hard-core Democrat and outspoken Southern sympathyzer, and the repercussions of this in Iowa led him to move to Sherman, Texas with his family after the Civil War. He and Sarah belonged to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church there.
