Turn 1: Megacles's Activation

The voting:

Option

Votes
Move Megacles to left flank, remove hits 2
As above, plus bring up lagging HC 1
Move Megacles to left, missile fire with SK 1
Megacles advance with PH 1
Leonatus advance 1 hex with HI 1
Leonatus advance 2 hexes with HI 1
Leonatus wheel right with HI 1
Leonatus shift left with HI to clear rout path for Milon1

(There's one more vote here than last time because someone knew what the Epirotes should do, but gave no opinion about the Roman move.)

My thoughts:

Again I'm working with pluralities, not majorities. But the decision between activating Leonatus or Megacles now is relatively unimportant anyway, as whoever doesn't go now will still get a chance to move before the turn ends.

As a practical matter, then, since there seems to be more disagreement about moves for Leonatus then there is for Megacles, I'm going with activating Megacles, and hope to see more agreement in the next vote on what to do with Leonatus.

Megacles's Activation

Megacles advanced to put all of the HC within his command range, moved up the lone HC, and removed TQ hits from two of the moved HCs. What "lone HC", you ask? I made a bad clerical error and omitted the HC sitting southeast of Pyrrhus, who was attacked by Falco but hasn't done anything else this turn except recover. I've gone back and reinstated it in the diagrams; thanks to the sharp-eyed contributor who noticed.

The remaining Epirote HCs with 4 cohesion hits are TQ8 units, so the cavalry is slightly battered but still able to attack.

We're now down to the last vote for this turn, another two-parter:

Mail me.
